★ Dare To Dream ★

Hi guys! Dolly here. Today, I'll be talking about how my past experiences drove me to chase my dream which is to be a successful surgeon in the near future (crossing fingers hahahaπŸ˜‚). Now, I am absolutely sure that everyone has a dream of their own, be it a short-term one or a  long term one! It can be owning a bungalow in 5 years' time, having a brand new phone and even being a millionaire the moment you wake up tomorrow (nice try, dolly ;-;) Well, whatever your dream is, my advice is; GO FOR IT! YOLO! Go for your dream no matter how silly or far-fetched it sounds because it's your life, not theirs, and no one can say what you get to be in the future (cues Rewrite the Stars). Okay, enough with the TED talk, let's go straight into what drove me to achieve my dream: Being a doctor

Why medicine, of all courses?

Now, why medicine, you ask? Well, for me, it was more of like a build-up of reasons rather than a single reason that pinpoints why I'd choose to pursue medicine in the future. FYI, my parents had never forced me to choose this course! In fact, they just let me go on with my dreams (wow, so supportive hehe).

First off, when did I start having this dream of being a doctor? It was when I was in Standard 3 (9 years old). Now, you may be thinking, excUsE mE?? But it's true and funnily enough, it sort of stuck on to me till I graduated from high school so here I am, telling you guys about my dream. And as clichΓ© as it sounds, I got the whole idea from watching a HK drama about hospital life! Funny, isn't it, how something which may be insignificant in someone's life, could turn out to change another's life and direction altogether?

As I grew older (and became wiser πŸ˜‚), it became apparent that being a doctor was the right choice for me! My interest in human anatomy and helping the injured grew stronger. I joined clubs and voluntary activities such as the Red Crescent Society in my school. However, the main reason I would say was that my paternal grandparents were admitted to the hospital after having some health issues. It made me realise, with certainty, that I wanted to be on the other side rather than on this side. I didn't want to be the spectator ion (fuish chem😝) but rather the one who is able to assist and help others who are in need. So I studied hard to achieve my goals and here I am, one step closer to my goals!

A piece of advice

Alrighty, before I end this blog, I'd just like to give y'all a piece of advice which is don't give up. No matter how hard and difficult the road you've chosen to take is, don't ever give up!

I know it's hard, I've been there before. You don't even know how many times I've failed to achieve my goals, but one thing is; I've never given up.

You know the quote which goes like; fall down 7 times, get up 8? Yeah, keep that in mind. Nothing in life is easy (sed I know) and it's up to you to prove yourself! So, just keep going, keep going and keep going!

If you've read the blog up until here, thank you so much! Just remember, don't ever give up on your dreams, reach for the stars and keep dreaming πŸ’«
